TANYA TIER
Tanya is a mixed media artist who specialises in satirical and political artwork. She was born and raised in Jordan before coming to the UK after the six day war. With friends and relatives still living in the region, Tanya (along with millions of other people) has been dismayed by the actions of the US and UK governments in Iraq. Her aim with this exhibition is to continue to raise awareness about the desperate plight of the Iraqi people, and the long-term effects of our actions on the population and their country.

FIRYAL AL-ADHAMY
Firyal is an Iraqi/British artist who was born in Baghdad.
Her latest collection "Postcards from Mesopotamia" is inspired by her reaction to the tragic looting of the museum of Baghdad in 2003. Moved by an article by Robert Fisk, entitled "Civilization Torn to Pieces", Firyal’s immediate impulse was to try to put back these missing pieces through the medium of art.

LOU McKEEVER (Bluelou)
Lou is a fine art graduate skilled in painting, digital imaging, photography and performance art. All these media have been used to explore subjects that have a political or humorous aspect. Her first love has always been comics and cartooning, and as well as exhibiting in several shows, she has had cartoons nationally published in Flip-side and the Times Educational Supplement.

ANAHIT SARKES
Anahit is a renowned abstract artist who studied in both Baghdad and Moscow. She has exhibited worldwide and is well established in Europe. Her latest collection is based on the journey of Ishtar, reflecting events which have happened in Iraq over the last few years.

Kadhim was born in Missan, Iraq and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Baghdad.
He obtained his BA in Fine Arts in 1973 and has exhibited in several European galleries.

ALAA SIRAIH
Born in Basra in Iraq, Alaa Siraih Graduated from the Baghdad Academy of Fine Arts and is a member of the Iraqi Union of Artist, Iraqi Plastic Arts Union, and the Iraqi Artist Society. Siraih has been exhibiting his works of art since 1983 and continues to do so as London resident. His paintings represent the “magical delirium of love, and live, which is the soul’s true meaning, and its plaintive song.
