WORK BY FIRYAL AL ADHAMY
Firyal's latest collection "Postcards from Mesopotamia" is inspired by her reaction to the tragic looting of the museum of Baghdad in 2003. Moved by an article by Robert Fisk, entitled "Civilization Torn to Pieces", Firyal’s immediate impulse was to try to put back these missing pieces trough the medium of art. The result is a colourful interpretation of the ancient history of her country in this tumultuous time.
